Wood biomasses
WHY USE WOOD BIOMASSES FOR HEATING?
Fossil fuels currently satisfy more than 85% of the worldwide energy demands. Petroleum is the most used fuel among these.
Reserves of these fuels however are non renewable primary sources; as a result, they may soon run out. Besides that, their exploitation causes significant environmental problems, both in the immediate term (site degradation and pollution as the product of combustion), and long term (greenhouse gasses like carbon dioxide and methane, with the resulting increase in global temperatures and potentially catastrophic effects on climate equilibrium).
In this scenario it is obvious that energy sources such as gas, diesel oil, natural gas and lpg (the ones that are most used for heating), are not very ecologically sustainable, and constantly increasing extraction and refining costs weigh heavily on family budgets.

Renewable sources of energy are found anywhere on our planet From an ecological point of view, the proper exploitation (even from a technological point of view) of renewable energy sources such as wood, pellets or solar energy, is sustainable in nature and part of a global strategy for reducing and containing emissions that are harmful to the environment (Kyoto Protocol).

Renewable sources of energy are found anywhere on our planet: every location on the earth receives light from the sun, wind, and wood biomasses are available in such quantities that they can be exploited in many regions.

In addition these sources are good for both the economy and the environment because:
  • they safely guarantee a supply for an indefinite amount of time (they are non-depletable)
  • they create work and occupation in the area where they are exploited
  • they increase freedom in both the individual and the nation that uses them

Palazzetti has always used energies and resources to obtain products that are able to guarantee high performance levels, reducing the environmental impact as much as possible, controlling emissions without giving up on yield. However, just any fire is not enough to obtain healthy and natural heat: there is a need to properly choose what should be burn and especially how it should be burnt.

KYOTO PROTOCOL
The European Union and individual States of the Union have signed their support for the Kyoto Protocol, the great international agreement with the objective of opposing the greenhouse effect.
To reach the Kyoto Protocol’s objective (reducing global CO2 emissions by 8% by 2008-2012) an important part of its mission is to support the development of renewable sources (sun, wind, potential energy from water falls, biomass, etc.), those that, as we have already seen, respect the environment more and create greater development opportunities for the local economy. The objective is to double the use of renewable sources of energy between now and 2010, going from the current 6% to 12%.
